Life with the Lambs: Florida Part Two: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure

On the second and third days we went to Universal Studios and their other park, Islands of Adventure. At Universal, we got to see how they make movies and ride some fun rides. We lived through "Earthquake", "Twister", "The Revenge of the Mummy", "Men in Black" and "Jaws". Just to name a few. The Mummy ride was lots of fun. It's an indoor roller coaster that stops and goes backwards. Madison thought it was GREAT! Tanner was scared to death by Jaws. He just happened to sit on the side of the boat that the shark came up on the most. His face was hilarious! Tanner's favorite ride was the Men in Black. Everyone has a laser gun and they get points for shooting the aliens. And if someone shoots your car, then you get spun around. He kept wanting to beat his score, which he did. He thought it was pretty cool. Katie just liked to look at the birds and be outside. We were really lucky because she was such a good girl the entire time we were gone. We also got to see Shrek and Donkey. Donkey was kind of just a head on the wall, but he talked. Someone must have been watching from behind with a microphone, because he talked with the kids. He sounded just like Eddie Murphy. He was cracking us up like crazy. We weren't going to stand in line to see him, but after listening to him Tanner said we HAVE to go see donkey. So we did. While we were in the Shrek 4-D movie Jordan sat out with Katie and listened to Donkey. It was kind of like his own comedy hour!

Islands of Adventure is a huge theme park. Kind of like Lagoon, but 100,000 times better! They have some wicked rides. Madison wasn't able to go on several rides, but the ones she was able to ride, she did. There is a spiderman ride that is 3-D and moves around. The kids thought that was cool. They also have a Dr. Seuss area there. There is a ride, like Dumbo (for those of you that know Disneyland), but it is One Fish Two Fish. Each fish has a name on it and you have to listen to the song in order to know if you should go up or down. If you do it wrong, then you get sprayed with water. So fun! We adults liked the Hulk roller coaster and the Dueling Dragons which is a dual hanging roller coaster that go at the same time and intertwine. You feel like you are going to hit the people on the other one. It's crazy, but fun. They also had a couple good water rides. We got SOAKED!!!

In Islands of Adventure they have a Jurassic Park area. It has a few rides and a museum. We were getting off one of the rides and walking through a VERY wooded area when Jordan stepped on a dinosaur footprint on the ground. It made a dinosaur sound in the trees and scared Tanner to death. He ran so fast back to me. It was pretty funny. From then on, he wouldn't walk very close to the bushes or trees.
